AmberWave Systems Names Andrew Martin as Patent Counsel

Salem, N.H. - January 16, 2009 - AmberWave Systems, a leader in the research, development and licensing of advanced technologies for semiconductor manufacturing, has named Andrew Martin as patent counsel. Martin will report to Bryan Lord, AmberWave's VP and general counsel, and have responsibility for management of AmberWave's intellectual property portfolio.

Martin's area of practice focuses on intellectual property, specifically domestic and foreign preparation and prosecution of patents; technology transfer and intellectual property license agreements; and litigation involving patents, trademarks and copyrights. He joins AmberWave Systems after serving as an attorney for Bourque & Associates in Manchester, N.H., and previously as an attorney at Fish & Richardson, as well as a patent examiner at the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

Martin completed his law degree at Franklin Pierce Law Center. He earned his master's degree in electrical engineering from Boston University and a bachelor's of science degree in mechanical engineering from the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech).

Martin is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office and is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. He is a member of the Intellectual Property Law section of the American Bar Association, the American Intellectual Property Law Association and the Boston Patent Law Association.
