AmberWave Systems believes in and supports strong patent protection. Policies relating to the U.S. patent system will greatly affect our ability to continue as a technology leader in the global economy.

AmberWave Systems believes that in order to achieve the fundamental objectives of our nation’s patent law, the technology transfer marketplace must provide flexibility for buyers and sellers of patented technology to transact freely. Patents ought to be granted to deserving applicants, pre-grant examination procedures ought to be improved to improve patent quality, and post-grant challenges ought not add risk and uncertainty to the technology transfer market.

Finally, patent holders ought to be incented to continue to invent, and should be fully and fairly compensated for the fruits of their innovative activity.

AmberWave Systems has submitted testimony to the Small Business Committee of the U.S. House of Representative on the importance of strong patents to small businesses. It has also submitted two amicus briefs to the United States Supreme Court on two important patent related cases.
